Banderas looks set to lose chunk of Spanish property

A Spanish court has ordered Antonio Banderas to demolish part of his beachfront villa in Spain.

The villa, located near Marbella, was on disputed land. The Andalucia High Court reclaimed the land for community use.

Lawyer Inmalculada Galvez said that neighbours offered to end their fight for £2 million but that now all deals were off. The court over-ruled an order suspending demolition of part of the property. Banderas's home, named La Gaviota, is located at Los Monteros in Marbella.

Some 150 of the 780 square metres of the villa and the swimming pool for the property are now under threat of demolition. The land encroaches on an area marked on the urban plan as allocated to beach equipment.
