Billy Ray Cyrus joked around with a sprig of rosemary on his way to a TV studio - pretending it was marijuana, according to US reports.

The country music star, the father of teen idol Miley Cyrus, is said to have picked up the herb from a table outside a restaurant.

He then admired it as though it was a stem of the drug.

The New York Post reported: "He picked up the sprig and said, 'Ah, top of the bud', as if it were marijuana, making everyone howl with laughter."

Achy Breaky Heart singer Cyrus, 47, was en route to New York's Channel 11 studio, the paper's gossip column reported.
