Black Eyed Peas haven't a clue about Formula One

Black Eyed Peas have admitted they haven't a clue about Formula One, despite performing at the F1 Rocks event.

The band's lead singer Will.i.am, 35, said that they have never even seen a race.

He said: "Apparently it's one of the biggest events but we've never seen a race. I'm a big fan of Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes, though, and love fast cars."

The band have been unable to celebrate being number one in the US for 25 consecutive weeks with tracks Boom Boom Pow and I Gotta Feeling because of their hectic tour.

Talking about the record, Will said: "It was surreal to think you have broken a record over Michael Jackson, Usher and Mariah Carey. We haven't had a chance to celebrate. But we will."
