Celebrities pay tribute to Patrick Swayze

Celebrities are using Twitter to pay tribute to Patrick Swayze.

Within minutes of the announcement that the Dirty Dancing star had died, US interviewer Larry King said he was planning a tribute show.

Former Cheers star Kirstie Alley used the social networking site to tell Patrick's wife Lisa she was there for her.

She added: “I will always cherish my amazing memories of Patrick... we had so much fun together... come back soon Patrick, we need you here on earth.”

Singer Ricky Martin said: “Patrick Swayze R.I.P. much love to his family.”

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest wrote: “Sad! Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months.”

Former Culture Club singer Boy George also tweeted: “R.I.P. Patrick Swayze. Sad, sad news!”.

British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver also said: “V sad news, Patrick Swayze the actor from Dirty Dancing just passed away, very sad. I met him once. He seemed v nice, very sad night.”
