Chris Brown pleads guilty to Rihanna assault

A troubled Chris Brown was ordered to serve probation and the kind of community service that will get his "hands dirty" after he entered a guilty plea to assaulting Rihanna before a preliminary hearing.


Brown's pleading guilty to assaulting singer Rihanna averted the courtroom drama of her testimony. The pair have also been ordered to stay away from one another - an order that the judge made clear was two-way.


Their paths did not cross but Judge Patricia Schnegg's order is for a 50-foot distance to be kept between them at all times apart from at industry events, when it could be reduced to 10 feet.


Schnegg commended Brown. "I think it's commendable you took responsibility for your conduct," she told him.


She also expressed reservations about him not being a California resident and told him that he would likely be able to do his community service in Virginia - but not in churches and community halls. The judge, who said she hoped his probation terms "will have some meaning" said she wanted Brown to get his hands dirty the same as he would in California. By cleaning up trash or getting rid of grafitti. He will also attend domestic counselling in California every three months.


After Brown left the Los Angeles Superior Court, Rihanna entered and spoke briefly, saying she understood the terms of the stay-away and that after Brown's sentencing, she might ask for its terms to be loosened. Lawyers for both sides would not comment on the status of their relationship.


Brown will be formally sentenced on August 5.

    i love them both, but i think that chris brown shouldnt be the only one getting in trouble for this because rihanna had to have lead him on in some way for him to do all of that to her.! why does she stillwanna see him.? obviously it was just a inccident that happen and they wanted to work things out again or else they wouldnt still be seen in public..,! think smart

    I believe that Cris Brown deserves more than what he got for hitting a woman. He deserves for his te*****ls to be cut off
