Dancing With The Stars contestant Mya has injured her hand ahead of her debut on the show.

The 29-year-old singer wrote on her Twitter page that she had a "deep cut" on her hand following an accident on September 20.

She wrote on Twitter: "Went2the hospital late last night2get stitches. Deep cut from glass. Only caught 2hours of sleep but feel great. Must be adrenaline."

A source said: "She went to grab a glass for something to drink late last night and it just broke and shattered in her hand. She went right to the hospital and got stitches and got it taken care of."

Her rep has spoken about the incident and confirmed it happened but gave no further details.

The season 9 premiere of the show took place on ABC on September 21 but the female stars won't perform until September 22.
