Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus was banned from wearing make-up in the film

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus has admitted the film's director Peter Chelsom banned her from wearing make-up and hair extensions in the new flick.

Peter, 53, who has directed films including Serendipity and Shall We Dance?, had never heard of Miley, 16, and wanted her to remain a natural beauty.

She said: "Peter wouldn't allow the make-up girl to give me touch-ups when I was sweating, and he wouldn't even allow me my mascara."

She added to Scottish newspaper the Daily Record: "I said: 'I like my spray tan and I want my hair extensions.' But he said that I couldn't wear make-up and that my hair should be messy."
