Hilary Duff has shed her squeaky-clean image and showed off her new tattoo.

The 21-year-old actress recently hosted the Herve Leger by Max Azria Celebration at LIVE! On Sunset in LA and revealed her new tattoo, the words Let It Be written over her ankle.

She said: "I wanted a tattoo, and you only live once.

"Someone came to my house, and my Mom and I did it together with a few of our friends."

Talking about her inspiration for the tattoo, she said to In Touch Online: "I have a hectic, crazy life."

She added: "Things are crazy all around me, and I get stressed out.

"It's like, I'm just one little person, let it be.

"And that's what it is!"
