Irish band U2's world tour is reportedly not making a profit as it is costing £470,000 a day to run.

The band are currently in the middle of their 360 Degree Tour, which sees the men perform on a huge stage called The Claw.

It has now been claimed that the tour is costing them the staggering amount whether they are playing or not.

So far, the band have played 24 concerts in Europe and nine in North America since it started in Barcelona in Spain on June 30.

Band manager Paul McGuiness said: "The engineering problems are enormous and costly. Whether we're playing or not, the daily overhead is about £470,000.

"That's just to have the crew on the payroll, rent the trucks and all that. There are about 200 trucks in total, including merchandise and catering."
