Jessica Simpson to star in new reality show

Jessica Simpson hopes to star in a new reality TV show that features her battle with the bulge, according to US reports.


The singer-turned-actress is working on The Price of Beauty.


The US programme would probe society's scrutiny of women's bodies.


In the show, Simpson and a pal "set off on a road trip around the world in search of what people find beautiful, and why," a source said.


Dukes of Hazzard star Simpson, 28, faced serious criticism earlier this year when she performed on stage in a pair of high-waisted jeans that showed her with a much curvier look.


"Jessica is indeed working on a new show, but network details have not been finalised at this time," a representative for the star said.


She shot to fame in MTV reality show Newlyweds, which charted her relationship with then-husband, Nick Lachey.
