Katy Perry, Russell Brand eye Britney's neighbourhood

Katy Perry and Russell Brand are seeking a Los Angeles love nest, narrowing their eyes to the gated community that is home to Britney Spears.


A Los Angeles real estate agent said they were seeking a pad to lease for about $7,500 a month. The agent said: "They have just spent a few days searching for a traditional home in Los Angeles. They really liked the gated community where Britney Spears lives, The Summit. They want a freestanding place where they can make a bunch of noise."


A whirlwind romance has engulfed the celebrity pair since they hooked up at the MTV Video Music Awards. Perry has taken the wild and woolly Brand from his North London natural habitat to the glossy world of Hollywood.


They were seen out in the sunshine after a bizarre birthday bash held for Perry's 25th where guests were splattered in a red liquid that could have been a fake blood bath or a strawberry jam fest. This time Perry wore a T-shirt that was reported to have essentially declared her and Brand are the real deal - in asterisked profanity blanked words.


Perry has said she is super keen for Brand to meet her folks. The agent said: "Katy comes from a very conservative family and Russell has made it clear that he's OK with her trying to recreate that atmosphere. They've not been dating long, but they can't wait to move in together."
