Lady GaGa talks safe sex and being a charity volunteer

Lady GaGa is more than a pop-shock performance artist - she has been doing volunteer work to help others since she was barely out of diapers.


The singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, spoke out about her charity work when she visited the Orange RockCorps HIV Support Centre in Manchester, UK.


"I've been doing volunteer work since I was two. When I can, I do everything I can for those in need," said the pop star.


"When I was in school in New York I did 60 hours a year of volunteering with young people hungry for a life in theatre.


"It was for kids who didn't go to schools with good theatre facilities. It was a great cause."


Lady GaGa was joined by 50 young volunteers, who each earned a ticket to her show in the city's Apollo venue on July 13.


She said: "I want to make it fashionable to have safe sex. You must be safe. You can have sex with hundreds of people with a condom on and get nothing.


"If you have sex without one, then you could get all sorts of problems."

    Totally agree with Lady GaGa!

    We developed a product called Willie Wetsuit - he was designed to bring the topic of safe sex to the forefront in a light-hearted manner. Rather than hide away from the subject, it needs to be talked about. Just google Willie Wetsuit or brightbutton.
