Nick Jonas to speak of living with diabetes

Nick Jonas, 16, of hit sensation band the Jonas Brothers will talk about living with diabetes in Washington this month.

Jonas has Type I diabetes which involves taking insulin. The talk will take place at the National Press Club, at a luncheon, on August 24.

"Since being diagnosed with Type I diabetes at age 13, the pop superstar, who tests his blood sugar more than 10 times a day, has made a personal commitment to raise awareness about juvenile diabetes," the club said in a statement.

"In June, he testified before Congress to call for support of diabetes research funding. He wrote the song A Little Bit Longer to inspire those with diabetes to live their lives to the fullest," it said.

"Together with his brothers Kevin and Joe, Nick founded the Jonas Brothers' Change For The Children Foundation to support programs that motivate children to face adversity and one of their causes is to raise money and awareness for various diabetes programs."

i support him! i think what he is doing is sweet and caring. and its nice that he is also using his and his brothers fame to help children. he is sooo sweet =)

I totally support Nick's cause!!! He's so... amazing, and I'm really sorry about his testing his sugar level 10 times a day. I know that involves taking out blood everytime and being careful about what he eats and the pains diabetes can cause. and I didn't know tha message hiddenin the song a little bit longer,I can understand it right know,haha, well, hope God help'im. Love u guys. GBU
