Oscar-winning film Titanic starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio could be released in 3D, according to reports.


The 1997 flick was directed by James Cameron and released under his production company Lightstorm Entertainment and insiders say it could be under a year before it is released in 3D


Disney will soon release their hit movies Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D and are working on a 3D version of classic film Beauty and the Beast that is set for release in 2010.


Lightstorm partner Jon Landau said: "We are certainly interested in exploring the opportunity to rerelease some of Lightstorm's past films in 3D.


"I don't think it's too far into the future. We're pretty far down the future."


It is claimed Lightstorm have already done 3D tests on Cameron's most-successful movies Titanic and Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
