Paula Abdul - American Idol will be "different" show with Ellen DeGeneres

Paula Abdul has said American Idol will be a "different" show with Ellen DeGeneres as a judge.


Paula, 47, is being replaced by Ellen, 51, after she announced she was quitting the show.


Paula said: "It's just going to be a different show."


Asked if she ever broke down while deciding to leave the hit talent show, she said: "I think that happened during the time I was making that difficult decision [to leave], where I was fighting with myself back and forth.


"Am I willing to go against what my beliefs are and have the same outcome?"


Paula also dished about her plans for the future following her departure from Idol.


She said: "I am doing so many things, I can't wait to tell you. I see myself... such a big part of what I've been doing is helping other people realise their dreams.


"I've only scratched the surface of things I want to do. I'm going to be producing my own show - not just in America. I'm going to be creating a show in Vegas.


"Pretty soon I'll be announcing some very exciting stuff with a network and production company. So I'm actually getting to do all the things that represent who I am. People have no idea."
