Pete Doherty had to pay £10,000 for private jet back to the UK after budget airline ban



Babyshambles star Pete Doherty had to pay £10,000 for a private jet back to the UK after a budget airline refused to allow him on their flight.


The 30-year-old rocker was due to fly from Valencia to London Gatwick on an easyJet flight, costing him £120, after he played at the Benacassim festival.


However, he was stopped at boarding with three other musicians after they were accused of drinking before the flight.


Their bags were then taken off the flight, and he booked a private jet back.


A spokesman for easyJet said: "We were told Mr Doherty and three friends had been drinking before the flight.


"Our captain erred on the side of caution and refused to allow him on board."
