Irish superstar band U2 launched their first tour in three years in the historic Spanish city of Barcelona - and dedicated one of their biggest hits to the late Michael Jackson.

The tour is a kickstart for their latest album, No Line On The Horizon.

The show started with a track from the album titled Breathe before the band provided a mix of old and new material, that stretched as far back as renditions of Beautiful Day and Sunday Bloody Sunday.

They then dedicated a performance of Angel of Harlem to Jacko, who passed away last week.

"We wrote this one for Billie Holiday but we are going to play it tonight for Michael Jackson," said Bono. "Unspeakable talent, that's all there is to say, really."

He then declared: "All around Spain, all around the world, things are difficult. Thank you for coming back to us again and again."

The 360 Tour will travel to 31 cities across North America and Europe, with more dates expected in 2010.
