U2 star Bono was reportedly almost brought to tears after seeing tour stage

U2 star Bono was reportedly almost brought to tears after seeing the stage for his new 360-degree Tour in Barcelona.

The 49-year-old frontman wanted a stage in the middle of the stadium so the audience could feel more part of the show.

He said to fans: "Thank you for making our dream come true."

He added: "It's an idea we've been working on for about eight years, much to the scepticism of my bandmates and most people in the industry who said it wasn't possible to play like this in the round.

"But I talked about it all through the Vertigo Tour, and eventually they told me that maybe I was not insane."

He added: "If people are interested in magic, then we're up for it.

"Magic is what we're after on this tour - the spell that can occur when a band and audience really connect."

The band will be bringing their tour to the UK later this month when they will perform at Dublin on July 24 and Wembley on August 14.
