Leona Lewis to sing on Haiti charity single

Singer Leona Lewis has confirmed she will take part in a charity single for Haiti.

The 24-year-old star was rumoured to be starring on Simon Cowell's new charity single to raise money for the relief effort in Haiti after the recent earthquake that has devastated the country.

She has since confirmed the news on her Twitter page, saying she is happy to be taking part.

Lewis wrote: "Very proud 2 b invoved (sic) in the single for Haiti. Song is beautiful and will help the relief effort so please support it when it's released!"

It is claimed the song will be a cover of the REM hit Everybody Hurts.
