Pop star Lady Gaga has launched a campaign to make bullying illegal after learning about the recent suicide of a gay teenager in the US. Jamey Rodemeyer, 14, allegedly committed suicide on Sunday after years of taunting based on his sexuality. Jamey's death is especially tragic given that he posted an It Gets Better YouTube video last May as part of that initiative's message of optimism following a number of gay teen suicides. Rodemeyer was a big fan of the Born This Way singer and she was devastated to hear of his death and now plans to meet with US President Barack Obama to address the issue. An emotional Gaga, 25, took to her Twitter page yesterday to write: "The past days I've spent reflecting, crying, and yelling. I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someone's life. "Bullying must become illegal. It is a hate crime. "I am meeting with our President. I will not stop fighting. This must end. Our generation has the power to end it. Trend it #MakeALawForJamey"
