Scarlett Johansson: "Getting married was the best thing I ever did"

Scarlett Johansson has opened up about her failed marriage to Ryan Reynolds, saying it was "the best thing" she has ever done. The 27-year-old Avengers star tells US Cosmopolitan that she has no regrets about marrying The Proposal actor. "I'm a big believer that when something feels right, you should do it," Johansson says of her 2008 wedding. "I'm a big believer in instinct. Getting married was the right thing to do because it was natural. "It grew out of a romance and love and a desire to have a future with somebody, and I was very fortunate that I married somebody who turned out to be the person I thought he would be." The couple's divorce was finalised earlier this year, in July — just two months shy of their third wedding anniversary. The Iron Man 2 star reveals that their hectic work schedules contributed to the breakdown of their relationship. "Both of us were extremely busy," she explains. "We spent so much time apart. It's very difficult. It's bad." But she adds that she is glad she tied the knot with the 35-year-old Green Lantern star. "It seemed like a very romantic thing to do, and it was," she says. "It was the best thing I ever did."
