the song was made by a demon believe it or not "The light that is not light is here" jesus said "i am the way the truth and the light" and the demon speaking from the singer is blaspheming god "To crush you out with your own fear" satan wants us to fear him when really we should fear the lord, the more we fear satan and all of the evil in the world the more him and his demons can crush us "You hide, you hide, but will be found" - self explanatory look at this song as if a demon is saying it...not just this song but every song from this album is evil...i used to love metallica before i met the lord so im not sayin i hate metallica i grew up on them what i am sayin is they are making evil music intentionally so they can live for the fortune and fame...if you have read the word of god you will understand what i mean...god bless those reading this peace of christ be with you (p.s.search online about the "illuminatti" in music)

o_055_o is correct that this song was written about the Hounds of Tindalos's hunt of a bunch of people following the rise of R'lyeh. And if you really were paying attention to Metallica songs you would understand this was a follow up to THE CALL OF KTULU and THE THING THAT SHOULD NOT BE. If you look at the scary guy and look at pictures of Ktulu or Chtulhu you will see it more of what it is and not so much a devil type figure.

yup, mine too. the vocal harmonies are nice and compliment the riffs stylishly. the solo finally doesn't sound as flat as the rest and elevates the song enough to not not be qualified as some kind of bridge. could use some nice Trujillo riffs here and there and be a bit shorter in my opinion. but pretty solid song over all: I can imagine myself headbanging to this live.
