Clap until you hands hurt
Standing ovations, or boo-boo-boos
W-watch until we blur
Walk off into the sunset
Tell rock 'n roll I'm alone again
I want to put the mid-west home again
Your time has passed, they say never means never
So the fast dance won't last but never means forever
Never means forever
Alpha dog and o-o-omegalomaniac-ac-ac
Alpha dog and o-o-mega-megalo
Welcome to the new déjà vu
I can almost see the wizard through the curtains
Alpha dog and o-o-omegalomaniac-ac-ac
We must have the best coach
Tell the best jokes
We must make it hard to look so easy
Doing something so hard
You must see my way
They scream when they look at me
I'mma, I'mma star
I'mma, I'mma star
I'mma star
Oh, I'mma star
Alpha dog and o-o-omegalomaniac-ac-ac
Alpha dog and o-o-mega-megalo
Welcome to the new déjà vu
I can almost see the wizard through the curtains
Alpha dog and o-o-omegalomaniac-ac-ac
You're not the first or the last
But you're possible the prettiest, whoa
He's a fighter past his prime
He's in the gutter waving his hand
I'm just fine
You're not the first or the last
But you're possible the prettiest, whoa
He's a fighter past his prime
He's in the gutter waving his hand
Alpha dog and o-o-omegalomaniac-ac-ac
Alpha dog and o-o-mega-megalo
Welcome to the new déjà vu
I can almost see the wizard through the curtains
Alpha dog and o-o-omegalomaniac-ac-ac

The song meaning is pretty obvious. The first section is about the audience. "Your time has passed they say never means never" Probably something like saying that the person's time is over, they'll never make a comeback etc. But then it says 'Never means forever' so it's actually the opposite, and in their own mind that person will be famous forever. Megalomania is when you have delusions thinking that you're famous and important, but it's been changed to omegalomania to correspond with Alpha Dog. An Alpha dog is the top dog of the pack but Alpha is also the first letter of the Greek alphabet. Omega is the last. So the person thinks they're the best thing ever basically, from start to finish. "Welcome to the new deja vu". Obviously, there's no such thing as a new deja vu because deja vu is when you feel like something is happening to you that's happened before. It's a contradiction. The second verse is the person continuining to say how fantastic they are, how they're a star, they're so famous everyone loves them. The final part is saying that he's not the first or the last person of his kind but he's possibly the prettiest. He's past his prime, his time is over and he's in the gutter, saying 'I'm fine', thinking that he still can carry on. The end
