Welcome to a day of my life
The memoirs of an imperfect angel
Welcome, welcome, welcome to a day of my life
The memoirs of an imperfect angel
Though the lights were low, I could see you both
In a lover's silhouette
And my heart stood still, I was froze right there
Staring down at her red dress
So I bolted out the door, jumped right into the car
It's too dangerous to be in the vicinity of where you are
Rolled down all the windows just so I could breathe
Can't believe you just actually did this s*** to me
I'm going 'bout a hundred, mascara running
Laughing out of anger, but it don't strike me as funny
Been to good to you , I've been virtuous and true
To have something like this happen in my own bedroom
Betcha gon' know how it feels
(When I get you back)
Betcha gon' know how it feels
(And your heart's been cracked)
Betcha gon' know how it feels
(And we fade to black)
How it feels, for real
(And you see your whole world collapse)
I'mma la-la-laugh
I'mma la-la-laugh
I'mma la-la-laugh
Right in your face boy
Betcha gon' know how it feels
So I pulled to the side of the road to fix my face
But I can't cover with make-up with what my tears want to raise
I wake up in a haze, morning dew and sun rays
As I drive, I hide my eyes behind my black Cavalli shades
A block from the house, slowly creep in the driveway
Tiptoe through the door, but you're there, wide awake
You're like, "Where you been?"
I'm like, "Sorry, but I fell asleep on Jasmine's sofa
I could have swore that Ray Ray called you and told you"
You're like, "You OK?"
I'm like, "I'm alright, go to sleep and I'll be fine"
But if you only knew what was in the back of my mind
I'm really stung, but you're really gonna find out in time
Betcha gon' know how it feels
(When I get you back)
Betcha gon' know how it feels
(When your heart's been cracked)
Betcha gon' know how it feels
(When we fade to black)
How it feels, for real
(And you see your whole world collapse)
This is for real, for real, for real
Oprah Winfrey, whole segment, for real, for real
20/20, Barbara Walters, for real, for real
60 minutes, for real
Baby, I had all the trust and you won't look at what you put me through
(You got me all crazy)
Somewhere down the line you're gonna get what you deserve
(You f***ing jerk)
You're were supposed to save me, my sweet baby
Now we're fading away
But you're gonna know how this feels
Even if it's the last thing I ever do
To be continued

I love this song, but Breakdown reflects my feeling better. Some words written there are incredibly me, I used to hear this song every night before I play Breakdown. MC is the best!
MCTom

this is the same song she has been writing over and over again since she was dumped out of that mansion. she has done a lot of songs like this ones, just to mention breakdown, petals, did I do that, crybaby, 4real4real, for the record, side effects, etc., songs in where she's blaming tommy and almost everyone for how much she suffered (according to her) but vastly to tell us the story of: tommy was abusive, he was the one cheating on her, she had to fly away, the innocent MC... when we all know she was cheating on tommy, she had to run obviously and everybody was trying to help her out but she wanted to be wild, she lost her voice because she wanted to be so gangsta so, whatever... as the years roll her songs go down... just as her once incredible voice

Mariah has never recorded a song like this EVER...This reminded me of Ronald Isley "contagious"! I wish this song was longer I want to hear more of this side of Mariah singing as if she were talking to her friend, not singing a commercially produced radio tune meant for someone else to enjoy. Amazilgly mature work; I hope her future work reflects her growth as much as this album does!!!

My favourite on the whole album, the visuals in the song are too dope and nothing feels forced. Everythin from the melody to the lyrics, to her harmonies and singing is cohesive
