Bette Midler's show just goes on and on. The actress singer feted her 100th performance of The Show Must Go On at the Las Vegas landmark Caesars Palace Colosseum, it was reported.


But the effortless string of performance dates is achieved only through hard work off-stage, she said. "I try to keep my weight down so I don't have to redo my costumes every time I come back, which is really the hardest part," she said.


The show started in February 2008 and has just kicked off in Vegas, with 100 Sin City runs left to go. Midler also said it was important to keep her focus to keep the show from "becoming a little like Groundhog Day - not a lot like Groundhog Day, but a little. I .....

Bette Midler wants to duet with 50 Cent

Bette Midler wants to do a duet - with "gorgeous" gangster rapper 50 Cent.


The veteran star said she hopes to go into the studio with the former drug dealer.


But she is afraid she is too old.


She said: "I'd love to collaborate with him, but I'm way [30 years] older than him.


"I really can't rap, but I'd like to sing in the background on Get Rich or Die Tryin'."


The unlikely duo met when Bette's environmental group, the New York Restoration Project, decided to build a public garden in 50 Cent's childhood neighbourhood of Queens, New York.


Wind Beneath My Wings singer Bette, 63, had nothing but praise for 50, real name Curtis Jackson.
