I feel like Im drowning in ice water
My lips have turned a shade of blue
Im frozen with this fear that you may disappear
Before Ive given you the truth
I bleed my heart out on this paper for you
So you can see what I cant say
Im dying here (Im dying here)
Cause I cant say what I want to
I bleed my heart out just for you
Ive always dreamed about this moment
And now its here and Ive turned to stone
I stand here petrified
As I look in your eyes

My head is ready to explode
I bleed my heart out on this paper for you
So you can see what I cant say
Im dying here
Cause I cant say what I want to
I bleed my heart out just for you
And its all here in black and white and red
For all the times those words were never said
I bleed my heart out on this paper for you
So you can see what I cant say
Im dying here
Cause I can't say what I want to
I bleed my heart out just for you
I bleed my heart out just for you

“Bleed” - Hot Chelle Rae Hot Chelle Rae was influenced by many musical group. One group in particular is The Beatles. They were influenced by the Beatles because they were part rock and part pop. Hot Chelle Rae also has pop/rock sound. Because this song is a love song, the only H.E.L.P. references I could find were personal ones. There were plenty of those, but there was nothing historic, political, legal, economic, or scientific in the song, “Bleed”. Almost every line in the song has something personal in it, about his feelings. He is singing this song to someone, so he is expressing the way he feels about her. He doesn’t feel anything economic, or historic when he’s thinking about the woman he loves. There are many poetic devices in this song. In line 11, it says, “I bleed my heart out just for you” which is a metaphor because it is making it seem like his heart is actually bleeding, when in reality, it’s not. Also, “‘Cause I can’t say what I want to” (22) is an example of the poetic device: elegiac. It is an example of that because it he sounds sad while he’s saying that and it has a mournful sound the the line. Line 32 is an example of a hyperbole. It says, “I’m dying here.” This is an example of a hyperbole because he is exaggerating his feelings. He really isn’t dying, he just feels like it because his heart is broken. One example of postmodernism in this song is that truth is personal. This song was written for someone, so the writer expressed how he feels about her and was truthful about it. It also has references to postmodernism because this song makes you think and you we think about how it made us feel. This song also embraces silence, which is a postmodernism reference. It is a calm song that relaxes you and we all can relate to what he’s saying at some point in our lives.
