When news broke that two of Canada’s most well-known musical exports, Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne (aka #Chavril), are scheduled to be married, we here at MetroLyrics (also, Canadians) decided to help them get a jump-start on the wedding preparations. After some digging, we penned a pair of personalized wedding vows for the two of them using their very own song lyrics! Consider it a wedding gift from us, guys.
With these custom vows in hand, their the ceremony will probably go something like this…
Minister: “Dearly beloved, we gather here today to mark the holy rock n’ roll union of Chad Kroeger [*cannons fire and flames shoot toward the sky*] and Avril Lavigne [*all members of Sum 41 loudly boo*]. I’ve been told that the two of you have prepared vows. Avril, why don’t you start things off…
Avril: “Okay, here goes…
Minister: “Indeed it is. Chad, on to you…”
Chad: “Okay… Avril,
Wait, look at this photograph
*Chad pulls out this photo and shows it to Avril*
Every time I do it makes me laugh/Every time I do it makes me… *notices Avril giving him the death stare*
But, yeah, enough with all this the soft stuff. Let’s get this over with and start this P-A-R-T-Y!!”
Minister: “Chad, you may kiss the bride.” [*guitar power chords blare, cannons fire and flames shoot through the sky once again*]
Songs used for Avril’s vows: “The Best Damn Thing,” “When You’re Gone,” “Wish You Were Here,” and “Comlicated.”
Songs used in Chad’s vows: ”How You Remind Me,” “If Today Was Your Last Day,” “Never Again,” “Figured You Out,” “Rockstar,” “Feelin’ Way Too Damn Good,” “Photograph,” and “Far Away.”
