Bob Dylan remained unknown as he joined tourists on a £16 bus tour of John Lennon's childhood house.


The 67-year-old legend was not recognised as he joined tourists at the house in Liverpool, where he is currently based as part of his tour, and looked over the memorabilia.


A spokeswoman for the National Trust, which owns and looks after the house, said to British newspaper the Daily Mirror: "We couldn't believe it when his agent rang us and asked if we could get Bob on one of our tours to see John's house."


The spokeswoman added: "He spent ages going through photo album .....

Bob Dylan has kept Lady GaGa and Lily Allen off the top spot and remained at number one in the UK albums charts.


The singer has claimed a second week in the top position with his 33rd studio album, Together Through Life.


Lady GaGa's former number one album The Fame was kept at number two with Lily Allen and It's Not Me, It's You at number three.


Other artists with albums in the top ten in the UK charts includes Pink, Beyonce, The Prodigy and The Enemy.


Kings of Leon, Ciara and Yusuf also have albums in the top ten in the UK album charts.

Bob Dylan is number one on the British album charts for the first time in almost 40 years.


The success of Together Through Life comes 38 years and five months after he last claimed the top spot.


This means the 67-year-old singer/songwriter now holds the record for the longest gap between solo number one albums.


Dylan's last chart-topping LP in the UK was New Morning, in November 1970.


Together Through Life is Dylan's seventh UK number one, his 33rd studio album and his 53rd album, including compilations and soundtracks.


The previous record for the longest gap between number one albums was held by Tom Jones.
