Bomb squad called to Oprah TV studios

A bomb squad was called to the studios of the Oprah Winfrey Show after reports of a suspicious package, according to US reports.

Chicago bomb and arson detectives arrived at Harpo Studios at around 6.20am after an employee found a backpack with wires sticking out of it in a nearby flowerbed.

Officials used "remote diagnostics" to investigate the contents of the bag.

They later determined that it did not contain a bomb.

"Bomb and Arson [detectives] conducted remote diagnostics and rendered safe procedures without incident," a police spokeswoman said.

It is not yet known what was in the backpack.

The studio was not evacuated during the incide .....
