Delta Goodrem snares Italian tenor gig in US breakthrough

Australian singer Delta Goodrem is poised to crack the US market, according to a report.


Goodrem has put in years of trying to break in Stateside. Now a gig she has snared with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli on his US Christmas tour is being tipped as her big break.


She said: "I am deeply honoured to be joining Andrea for his US concert dates. He is an incredible artist and live performer. It will be a privilege to share the stage with Andrea and be a part of what will be a spectacular night of music for his American fans. The US dates are a part of my continuing American journey and it's a real pleasure to be able to perform live in both countries."

Delta Goodrem celebrates her 25th birthday

Australian singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem has marked her 25th birthday in Los Angeles.


The milestone was especially poignant for Goodrem, who is a cancer survivor.


Goodrem was joined by her embattled fiance Brian McFadden when an Australian radio breakfast co-host presented her with a birthday cake.


McFadden had returned to be by Goodrem's side after being in the UK dealing with the child custody situation with ex-wife Kerry Katona.


Goodrem has been mainly based in LA in recent months as she tries to launch her US singing career.


She is writing songs for her fourth album since kicking off in Nashville but the release date is not yet set.

Singer Delta Goodrem wants to be a cowgirl, she has revealed.


The Aussie star has bought cowgirl boots and a ten-gallon hat during her stay in Los Angeles.


Speaking to the Sydney-based Kyle & Jackie O radio show from the US, she said: “I got the hat and the boots. I love them.


“Being a cowgirl would be great.


“But I think my friends in Australia might have a laugh at my expense.”

Singer Delta Goodrem has posted a picture of herself as a little girl with her daddy - to mark Father's Day in her native Australia.


Goodrem, who is engaged to Irish pop star Brian McFadden, uploaded the pic of herself with her father Denis and younger brother Trent onto her Twitter profile.


She commented: “Father's Day so I'll share a pic of my dad!! Here's my daddy when my brother was born, he looks like such a little alien :) xxx."


Goodrem is currently in Los Angeles working on new songs.

Australian singer Delta Goodrem and Irish singer turned TV presenter Brian McFadden are reportedly moving to Sydney's suburbs.


The couple had a removalists' truck outside their unit on Cowper Wharf Road in the historic waterfront neigbourhood of Woolloomooloo earlier this week. McFadden was not seen playing traffic cop to the movers - but he was watching from a cafe across the road, it was reported.


They were reportedly tired of paparazzi camping outside their door.


The couple, who have postponed their wedding due to busy schedules, are said to be moving to the tony conservative suburb of Hunters Hill, a desirable address further up the harbour.

The comment is being taken by local media as confirmation of the long-rumoured union.

Delta Goodrem reflects on personal loss

Delta Goodrem, back from South-East Asia, says she is easing back into the swing after suffering a personal tragedy.


"[Bali] was a time of healing for me," the Australian singer said in a newspaper interview.


Goodrem recently lost a friend to cancer, a scourge she battled and bested some years back. She is now active in campaigns to support survivors and treatment in her home base of Sydney.


"I just lost a lifelong beautiful friend and needed some time," Goodrem said.


She made no mention of a recent stalking episode that upset her and fiance Brian McFadden.

Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden are concerned for their lives after a torrent of Twitter threats from a man with a messiah complex.


The Australian singer and her Irish boyfriend couple have flown out of Sydney for Phuket, Thailand, on a charity tour. The man, who calls himself "Saviour Mankind," had unleashed such posts as "I'll kill to be with you" at Goodrem.


He has claimed love and ownership toward Goodrem. "Brian McFadden if you harm a hair on Delta's head you will be the first to return to the gas chamber," the stalker posted.
