Fergie Biography

Stacy Ann Ferguson, popularly known as Fergie, is a singer born in 1975, on the 27th of March in Whittier, California. She used to be a member of The Wild Orchid together with Stefanie Ridel and Renee Ilene Sandstrom, but became famous after joining the Black Eyed Peas in 2003.
Fergie has English, Scottish, Irish, Native American, and Mexican in her blood, born to Patrick Ferguson and Terri Jackson, who were Catholic teachers. Fergie was raised in a strict household and was made to study in a dance school. It was in that school wherein she met an agent who helped her get a voice-over job as one of the characters (Sally) in a couple of Peanuts cartoons: “It’s Flashbeagle” and “Snoopy’s Getting Married”. During the years 1984 up to 1989, Fergie spent her summer vacations singing on Kids Incorporated. Her number on the show was her own rendition of “One Moment in Time”, one of Whitney Houston’s popular songs. In school, she was still able to maintain straight A’s while being a Girl Scout and a cheerleader all at the same time. In 1994, she also played the part of Ann in “Married…with Children”.
In 1996, Fergie became a member of the pop group Wild Orchid, who were able to release several hits like “At Night I Pray”and “Talk to Me”. She, however, made a name for herself as a member of the Black Eyed Peas (2003) as the singles she recorded with the band became very popular. In fact, “Elephunk” (the album) contained some of the greatest hits during the years 2003-2004: “Where is the Love?”, “Let’s Get Retarded”, etc.
“Monkey Business”, which was the group’s 2005 follow-up album, also produced smash hits such as “Don’t Phunk with My Heart” and “My Humps”. In 2006, Fergie tried her hand in coming up with a solo album entitled: “The Dutchess”, which gave way to some of her successful songs: “Fergalicious” and “London Bridge”. “The Duchess” is actually a symbol of Fergie’s admiration for the Duchess of York: Sarah Ferguson, also known with the pet name of Fergie.
2006 was also Fergie’s year of return to acting as she became part of the movie Poseidon with Richard Dreyfuss, her role being that of a lounge singer. She also landed a role in Grindhouse, a zombie thriller played in the year 2007, which was under the direction of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.
