Finger Eleven started during the band members’ high school years, with the group’s first performance in a Christmas concert in the year 1990 held at the members’ school. Known as Rainbow Butt Monkeys, the band launched their debut album in 1995: “Letters from Chutney”, wherein the group utilized the prize money they won from a band search competition courtesy of 97.7 CHTZ FM.

One year after, the band was managed by a new team: Coalition Entertainment. The members of the group realized that they wanted to be more serious with their music so they decided to use the name “Finger Eleven” instead of "Rainbow Butt Monkeys". Finger Eleven’s “breakthrough album” is actually “Tip” which was launched in 1997 under Mercury Records in Canada. In the US, the album was released the following year by Windup Records. Because of the album’s success, Finger Eleven was able to go on tour with popular bands like Fuel and Creed.

In 2000, the follow-up to “Tip” was released entitled:”The Greyest of Blue Skies”, which was certified gold in Canada. Three years after, Finger Eleven launched a self-titled album which included “One Thing”, mostly responsible for bringing Finger Eleven into the spotlight. “One Thing” became a hit in almost all charts: adult radio, rock, and pop charts. The said track was also utilized in a number of TV series like Smallville, Scrubs, etc. From 2003 up to 2005, Finger Eleven went on tour in North America, Australia, and Europe. The band has also received the so called “Much Music Video Award”.

The group’s most recent album was launched in the first quarter of 2007, and was entitled: “Them vs. You vs. Me”, which contained Finger Eleven’s most successful track: "Paralyzer". The said single was so successful that Finger Eleven was asked to play it not only in 2007, but also last year (January 2008 and April 2008) in various shows including the Miss USA pageant held in Las Vegas in 2008. “Them vs. You vs. Me” turned Gold in March 2008 in the United States, leading to the band’s lengthy tour in support of their album. Just last December, Finger Eleven supported Kid Rock in his European tour.
