Such the lazy Jackstraw always late for tea
Never bothers to ring lately
Says the silly sparrow a gossip in the grain
Have you heard the, oh you don't say
Someday, someday snow shall fill the trees
You best make warm eves

Callous is the old crow, he mock even the sun
Eyes as black as blood, bone crack in the craw
He'd say, he'd say always never mind
Always never mind
Truth be beggar that holds his tongue
Dines on none, none but air alone

Here is my attempt at ****ing the meaning of this song. Hope it helps in some way! I think this is about a person who doesn't affect anyone, like a scarecrow. That people will talk about you( the gossip in the grain). Here he is emotionally cold and in a bad mood/down- he mocks even the sun; he doesn't care for much- " Such the lazy jackstraw always late for tea never bothers to ring lately " I think that when he just says nevermind it means two things- 1. he doesnt care 2. he's holding his tounge. I think that the last paragraph means the following: what is this "jackstraw" going to earn by holding his tounge?
