Green Day started as one of the members of underground punk clubs in the state of California. As early as 14 years of age, Mike Dirnt, the band�s bassist, and Billy Joe Armstrong, the band�s vocalist and guitarist, came up with the band called �Sweet Children.� In the year 1989, a drummer named Al Sobrante was added and the band�s name changed into �Green Day.� The group�s first EP entitled �1000 hours� was released in the same year (1989) and had a warm welcome in the punk scene, leading t
