Hands Held High Lyrics

Linkin Park

Turn my mic up louder, I got to say somethin' Lightweight step it aside when we comin' Feel it in your chest, the syllables get pumpin’ People on the street, they panic and start runnin’
Words on loose leaf sheet complete comin’ I jump on my mind, I summon the rhyme I'm dumpin’ Healin' the blind, I promise to let the sun in Sick of the dark ways, we march to the drummin’
Jump when they tell us they want to see jumpin’ F*** that! I want to see some fists pumpin’ Risk somethin', take back what's yours Say somethin' that you know they might attack you for
‘Cause I'm sick of bein' treated like I have before Like I'm stupid standin’ for what I'm standin’ for Like this war's really just a different brand of war Like it doesn't cater to rich and abandon poor
Like they understand you in the back of the jet When you can't put gas in your tank These ******* are laughin’ their way to the bank and cashin' the check Askin' you to have compassion and have some respect
For a leader so nervous in an obvious way Stutterin’ and mumblin’ for nightly news to replay And the rest of the world watchin’ at the end of the day In their livin’ room laughin’ like, "What did he say?"
Amen, amen Amen, amen Amen
In my livin’ room watchin’ but I am not laughin’ 'Cause when it gets tense, I know what might happen The world is cold, the bold men take action Have to react to get blown into fractions
10 years old is somethin' to see Another kid my age drugged under a jeep Taken and bound and found later under a tree I wonder if he had thought, "The next one could be me"
Do you see the soldiers that are out today That brush the dust from bulletproof vests away? It's ironic, at times like this you pray But a bomb blew the mosque up yesterday
There's bombs in the buses, bikes, roads Inside your market, your shops, your clothes My dad, he's got a lot of fear I know But enough pride inside not to let that show
My brother had a book he would hold with pride A little red cover with a broken spine On the back he hand wrote a quote inside "When the rich wage war, it's the poor who die"
Meanwhile, the leader just talks away Stutterin and mumblin’ for nightly news to replay And the rest of the world watchin’ at the end of the day Both scared and angry like, "What did he say?"
Amen, amen Amen, amen
(Amen) With hands held high into a sky so blue (Amen) As the ocean opens up to swallow you (Amen) With hands held high into a sky so blue (Amen) As the ocean opens up to swallow you
(Amen) With hands held high into a sky so blue (Amen) As the ocean opens up to swallow you (Amen) With hands held high into a sky so blue (Amen) As the ocean opens up to swallow you
(Amen) With hands held high into a sky so blue (Amen) As the ocean opens up to swallow you (Amen) With hands held high into a sky so blue (Amen) As the ocean opens up to swallow you

This is ACTUALLY about the Bush administration, Bush stuttered and mumbled stupidly, hence the line; "Stutterin' and mumblin' for nightly news to replay". About the war in Iraq, the mistakes that they made.

the song is not just about Random wars being waged. Its all about supremacy that the Big Brother of the world is seeking to acquire. Uncle Sam wants to put his flag on every country possible by hook or crook. And controlling the world economy is one such act. He realized that the heart of world economy today lies in energy. We are dependant on the depleting fossil fuel. Controlling oil will give a huge control on the world economy. Tell me why when Sam has huge resources of oil in his backyard, why does he want to control the oil from his neighbor's backyard. Sounds fishy to me. Its because after the whole fossil fuels in the world are completely over, Sam will sell his oil from his backyard at $100 a gallon to the world. That's his plan. And today many countries are looking up to him. They think he is their hero, A Messsaih....They think that Sam will do something for them. Sam also acts like he's doing something good, the better good, the greater good to the world and the mankind. But, in reality Sam is just helping himself. He doesnt care about anybody. and at one point we can say, Sam doesnt even care about his own people. This is the deeper meaning of the song..

It just not about Muslims, Americans, Hindu, or any other its all about HUMAN and HUMANITY... And there is no terrorist who have any religion or reason to #!@%*# people, they have only one thing i.e. a ###@$%@^#%^^&@&$ mind, with no HEART. So please all the people who really care for Humanity, please please please don't blame any Muslim for terrorist attack....
