Kajagoogoo Hang on Now [Extended Version] Lyrics
Songwriters: N/A
(VERSE 1)
No sooner than
I turn my back and then
It's so hard to find
I'm on the decline with you

(BRIDGE 1)
Were I to know your feelings
Is there something between me and you?
Can't pretend you surprise me
And baby it's hurting me too

(CHORUS 1)
Hang on girl, meet my heart
It knows the best time for new love to start
Hang on now, meet my heart
It knows the best time for us to start
Hang on girl
Won't you remain?

(VERSE 2)
Those special moments together
I don't understand
But can't we go ahead
As we had planned?

(BRIDGE 2)
I've questioned all your reasons
Underneath I can see
Somewhere my stolen lover
Who really should still be with me

(CHORUS 2)
Hang on girl, meet my heart
It knows the best time for new love to start
Hang on now, meet my heart
It knows the best time for us to start
Hang on girl, meet my heart
It knows the best time for new love to start

(MIDDLE)
Should I hang on, should I stay?
What's the ransom ooh I will pay?

(FINAL CHORUS)
Hang on girl, meet my heart
It knows the best time for new love to start
Hang on now, meet my heart
It knows the best time for us to start
(REPEAT TO FADE)

The single version of this song actually gets 5 stars (it was a Top 15 single in 1983), but the extended version should be rated 3 stars only (and just because I'm pretty good today...) - I love Kajagoogoo, adore them to be honest (just see my other ratings...), but remix versions were not what they were best at, in fact, they were their one weakness, maybe: their mixes are usually just longer versions, mostly uninteresting, and missing random parts of the original songs. This one in particular is in fact identical to the 7"/album version, but for a couple of omitted half-lines in the lyrics and some redundant echo effect in the music. I rather much prefer the instrumental mix of TOO SHY: at least, we have the chance of listening to a complete piece of something there, i.e. the music, while here we cannot get a full picture of neither music nor lyrics, 'cause the latter are partly obliterated, and the former only ends up by being disturbed by the remaining parts of the words. Sorry guys! I know that you will do better with your new songs: the times have changed, and so have remixes, luckily!
