Courtney Love has hit out at her former Hole bandmate for saying she could not use the band's name for her solo work.

Coutney, 45, founded the band with guitarist Eric Erlandson, but he left the band in 2002.

He recently said in an interview with Spin magazine: "There is no Hole without me. If Courtney has a solo album together, I think that's great. I think she should finish it and put it out and do that.

"But as for the real Hole? I'm open to discussions."

But Courtney has hit out at the guitarist's comments and said she doesn't need his permission to use the name.

She posted a message on her Twitter page saying: "Uh I just hear that a former guit .....
