I Am The Walrus Lyrics

Beatles

I am he as you are he as you are me And we are all together See how they run like pigs from a gun See how they fly, I'm crying
Sitting on a cornflake Waiting for the van to come Corporation T-shirt, stupid bloody Tuesday Man you've been a naughty boy You let your face grow long
I am the eggman They are the eggmen I am the walrus Goo goo g' joob
Mr. City policeman sitting Pretty little policemen in a row See how they fly like Lucy in the sky See how they run, I'm crying
I'm crying, I'm crying, I'm crying
Yellow matter custard Dripping from a dead dog's eye Crabalocker fishwife Pornographic priestess Boy, you've been a naughty girl You let your knickers down
I am the eggman They are the eggmen I am the walrus Goo goo g' joob
Sitting in an English garden Waiting for the sun If the sun don't come you get a tan From standing in the English rain
I am the eggman They are the eggmen I am the walrus Goo goo g' joob G-goo goo g' joob
Expert, texpert choking smokers Don't you think the joker laughs at you? See how they smile like pigs in a sty See how they snide, I'm crying
Climbing up the Eiffel tower Elementary penguin singing Hare Krishna Man, you should have seen them kicking Edgar Allan Poe
I am the eggman They are the eggmen I am the walrus Goo goo g' joob G-goo goo g' joob Goo goo g' goo G-goo goo g' joob goo
Juba juba juba Juba juba juba Juba juba, juba juba Juba juba

Tell Us What These Lyrics Mean To You...

Snaxs

It is Goo Goo g'joob which is a direct quote from James Joyce's nonsensical writing "Finnegans Wake". This is also shown from the eggmen which are also characters from the same work. The walrus is of course referring to Lewis Carrol's "Through the Looking Glass". John Lennon admitted to the fact that while every word in this song was written while on LSD, the purpose of the song was to be nonsensical to throw off British schools trying to teach Beatles lyrics as poetry.

cstringwell

By the way i am the walrus was written in 1967 when the beatles had stopped taking LSD in late 1965 as day tripper and ticket to ride are under the innfluence of drugs and it was only lucy in the sky with diamonds lyrics they werent aloud to teach to children because it was a anagram of LSD apparently so could you please get your facts right before expressing false information.

The song also contains the exclamation goo goo g'joob with "koo koo g'joob" heard clearly in the second. Various hypotheses exist regarding the origin and meaning. One is that the phrase was derived from the similar "koo koo ka choo", to which it is often mondegreened, in Simon and Garfunkel's Mrs. Robinson, written in 1967. However, the film The Graduate, where "Mrs. Robinson" debuted, did not appear until December 1967, a month after "I Am the Walrus", and The Graduate Original Soundtrack (which contained only fragments of the final version of "Mrs Robinson") was not out until January 1968.
