This song is simply about someone fighting for what they believe in. it's not necessarily a soldier, it's not necessarily a fighter even. It's someone doing what they think is right, and doing their best at it. Don't forget that not all words have to be literal. After all, haven't basketball teams "slaughtered" one another? (No, I am not necessarily saying that this applies to basketball teams either.) Also, please don't turn the comments into a war debate people. it's just a song.

in my opinion, this song isn't about the Marines, it's about every soldier, and how they have fought for what they believe, not about a one group, if you watch the video, it covers all the different wars from the times of the cave men, to the current wars we fight today, I love this song, and to say it's about the Marines seems wrong to me, but as I said, I think it's about every soldier

I am an EXTREME liberal but what you seem to forget that those insergents are killing innocent Americans (Remember 9/11?) so every time a marine "murdered" that "innocent" man was shooting back and trying to #!@%*# a marine. i agree with nekksys this song is about the US MARINES, they know what the word WAR means, they go through it eveyday. my brother and 2 cousins are US MARINES and they have been over seas multiple times and came back HERO'S. the US MARINES are the true INDESTRUCTILBE MASTERS OF WAR! to all the MARINES out there "SEMPER FI"
