Joe Strummer Doc Headed to DVD

The Future Is Unwritten, Julien Temple's award-winning Joe Strummer documentary, has been set for a July 8 DVD release through Legacy Recordings. The label released the film's soundtrack in May of last year. It seems that the irrelevant shoe-brand (even in this '90s rehashing craze) Dr. Martens is seeking a reinvention at the expense of deceased rock stars. Ad agency Saatchi & Saatchi revealed a new campaign earlier in the week displaying Joe Strummer, Joey Ramone, Sid Vicious and Kurt Cobain all depicted as angels wearing the signature steel-toed Dr. Martens .....

Director Director Julien Temple—who filmed the Clash at one of their earliest rehearsals—will release Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten in theaters this May, after a premiering it at the Sundance Festival earlier this year.
