Katy Perry and Russell Brand rushed out to eat in darkness at Dans Le Noir, a select London noshery.

Perry was booked to do a radio interview with Chris Moyles. But the host was surprised to receive a call from Brand just hours before the booked appearance saying Perry would not be able to appear and that the pair wanted to spend time together.

Perry, in London for a short stopover, is apparently eager to spend as much time as possible with Brand. She flew in from hosting the MTV Europe Awards in Berlin, which marked the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Singer Katy Perry has revealed that she now understands what other celebrities have to go through after being papped more since she hooked up with Russell Brand.

Perry, 25, who has been in the media spotlight since she started dating the British comedian, 34, said it is "not pleasant" to be constantly followed by paparazzi.

She said: "Recently, I have understood the stuff people like Victoria Beckham have had to deal with for most of their adult lives. It can be frightening and overwhelming, but you just have to learn to deal with it.

"You could easily let it have a negative impact on your life, but it's best to just try and make the most of things... and not get t .....

Singer Katy Perry has said her boyfriend Russell Brand would prefer her to be covered up when she presents the MTV Europe Music Awards instead of her usual raunchy outfits.

The 25-year-old star will present the MTV Europe Music Awards on November 5 for the second year in a row.

Talking about her two-month relationship with the British comic, she said: "The wonderful thing is we both have our own kind of separate talents, careers and lives and we really respect each other.

"I think that's really important... [But] we like to kind of keep this as our special thing."

But Katy doesn't believe that Brand, 34, will approve of her sexy costumes for the show.

Singer Katy Perry has revealed that new boyfriend Russell Brand has taught her “a couple of things”, but joked that they are too inappropriate to perform onstage.

Perry will host the MTV European Music Awards live from Berlin tomorrow night and was asked if Brand, who hosted the MTV Video Music Awards in September, had given her any tips.

She said: "We're stepping on each others turfs. I've learned a couple of things from Russell over the last months that might not be appropriate for this!”

British comedian Russell Brand has revealed that his relationship with pop star Katy Perry has helped to calm him down.

The UK funnyman - who has been dating the I Kissed A Girl singer since September - admitted that he is finally happy.

He said: "I'm not drinking or doing drugs anymore, so I don't have that problem.

"My new relationship is helping me calm down. In the past, there were some times when I didn't like myself for what I was doing.

“I feel better now with who I am.”

He added: "I'm really enjoying myself now. It's a beautiful thing. I think maybe I'm really happy for the first time.”

Singer Katy Perry was reportedly left shocked when a fan told her she should get an STD test now she is dating lothario Russell Brand.

The 25-year-old is dating British comic Russell, 34, and was shopping in Kitson in LA when she was approached by the fan.

According to reports, the fan said: "Katy, have you and Russell gone and had STD tests together yet or what?"

He allegedly continued: "It's just the smart thing to do. There's a lot of things going around and your fella has been putting it around all over the place."

But the singer then angrily fled in her car and sped off.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand are seeking a Los Angeles love nest, narrowing their eyes to the gated community that is home to Britney Spears.

A Los Angeles real estate agent said they were seeking a pad to lease for about $7,500 a month. The agent said: "They have just spent a few days searching for a traditional home in Los Angeles. They really liked the gated community where Britney Spears lives, The Summit. They want a freestanding place where they can make a bunch of noise."

Katy Perry's birthday bash was not the zoo party that was rumoured but it was hardly tame.

The singer was given a Willy Wonka-style party in Hollywood that offered oodles of sweets and left guests splattered in strawberry jam-coloured paint.

New beau Russell Brand and country music sensation Taylor Swift were among guests whose photos were later posted to Perry's Twitter page. Perry wore white to begin with but her outfit acquired multi-coloured pastel designs. At one point guests appeared to writhe on the floor as they were covered in the jam-coloured paint.

Katy Perry will team up with Weezer rocker Rivers Cuomo for her new album.

Cuomo announced in an interview this week that they will be "writing together next week. Can't wait."

Perry has already started work on the follow-up to her hit record One of the Boys and promises a change of direction with her new album.

She said on Twitter: "I'm kind of thinking I want to do my record like a mesh between Lovefool by the Cardigans and [The Sign] by Ace of Base. I want to make songs that people want to hold hands and roller-skate to. Singer Katy Perry said she leaves a naked doll of herself on show at her home to shock her friends.

The 24-year-old singer revealed that she was given the doll after featuring them in her music video.

She said: "Somebody wanted to make me into a doll and they made 500 of them. It's all because I happened to use their dolls in my You're So Gay video.

"I have one at home and I don't put any clothes on her. I just keep her on the mantelpiece naked for everybody that comes by to see. It's hilarious."
