Kylie Minogue Biography

Kylie Minogue is a popular Australian entertainer, known for her pop songs. She was born in Victoria in May 1968, with Welsh and Irish blood running in her veins. She is Dannii Minogue�s sister, who is a singer like her. Kylie also has a younger brother named Brendan, who works as a cameraman for a news station.
During Kylie�s younger years, she took different lessons: tap, piano, and even jazz lessons. Kylie first became an actress before she became known for singing. She used to play a role in the Australian drama entitled: �Neighbours�, which gained fame not only all throughout Australia, but in the European continent as well. Other television shows that featured Kylie include: �The Henderson Kids�, �Zoo Family�, �Vicar of Dibley�, etc.
In the latter part of the eighties, Kylie Minogue released a few minor hits such as �Locomotion� and �I Should Be So Lucky�, with her first musical inspirations being �Abba�, �The Beatles�, and �The Rolling Stones�. When the early nineties arrived, Minogue decided to transform herself from a girl next door persona into a sexy singing sensation.
Though Minogue has not reached the number one spot in the United States yet, she enjoys the fact that her songs have become chart-toppers in Australia, Britain, and Europe, where she has maintained loyal fans. It was in the United Kingdom where one of her songs made it to the No. 1 spot. �I Should Be So Lucky� stayed on top of the UK charts for more than a month, and even sold more than 800,000 copies. Her album called: �Kylie� turned platinum for seven times, garnering sales of close to 2,000,000. Because of her continuous success, Kylie Minogue was even included in the Guinness Book of World Records, making her one of the important persons in the music industry.
Some of the albums she has launched include: her self-titled album: �Kylie�, �Let�s Get to It�, �Impossible Princess�, �Body Language�, etc. Kylie Minogue also played small roles in the following films: �The Delinquents�, �Moulin Rouge�, �Bio-Dome�, �Diana and Me�, �Hayride to Hell�, �Sample People�, �Cut� and �Street Fighter�.
In the year 2005, Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with the dreaded breast cancer so she had to cancel all her tours in order to combat her diagnosed illness. She has undergone chemotherapy and surgery and has recovered completely. Up to the present, Kylie Minogue is back to what she loves best: performing.
