Lady Gaga talks about her Gossip Girl 'performance art' guest appearance

Wacky performer Lady Gaga has spoken out about her upcoming guest appearance on Gossip Girl - and admitted she accepted the part because her teenage sister is a huge fan of the show.

She said: "First of all, my sister's a huge fan, and she's 17 years old.

"So when I called her and said, 'Gossip Girl wants to put my whole new album on the show and have me perform,' she was like: 'Oh my God, you have to do it. It's an amazing show.'

"And I'd seen it. It's a great show."

Lady Gaga also revealed she didn't want her time on the show to be a stereotypically awkward musical-guest appearance on a TV series.

Lady Gaga has revealed that she modelled her quirky image on Brit rock legend David Bowie.

The pop superstar said that when she was growing up, she would spend hours trying to recreate Bowie's own distinctive look.

“I used to like sit in my apartment for hours and do his make-up on myself over and over again,” she said, adding that she still collects anything to do with the rock legend.

The singer also admitted that she loves Halloween - because the holiday allows her to “hide” because so many of her fans dress up as her.

She said: “I was really excited that everyone was going to be me, so I could hide in a sea of Gagas.” .....

Singers Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper are to play ‘kiss and MAC-up' - by becoming the latest faces of the cosmetic company's Aids Fund.

The pair will advertise two new shades of lipstick - MAC Viva Glam Gaga and Viva Glam Cyndi - in MAC's From Our Lips campaign.

The pop stars have joined the ranks of Mary J Blige and Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie to front the make-up giant's charity fundraiser.

Gaga, 23, and flamboyant 1980s star Lauper, 56, will appear in the MAC Aids Fund ads from next February.

The Fund has raised more than $135m since 1994.

Lady Gaga is to perform with the Bolshoi Ballet for work that will be shown at a gala for the Museum of Contemporary Art in LA.

The Poker Face star, known for her crazy wardrobe and catchy pop tunes, will be performing with the dancers from the Ballet, according to a news release from the museum.

It said that it had commissioned the Italian performance artist Francesco Vezzoli to create a production called Ballet Russes Italian Style (The Shortest Musical You Will Never See Again).

The production will feature the collaboration between the quirky singer and the Ballet, and it will be performed at MOCA Grand Avenue on November 14 and will also feature the debut of Ga .....

Lady Gaga is reportedly going to give away a lock of her hair with every purchase of her new album The Fame Monster.

The 23-year-old singer is to release her album The Fame Monster in the US on November 24 and fans who purchase the deluxe version will receive a lock of her hair, a personal note from the star and a jigsaw puzzle.

The collector's edition will also feature pictorials, posters, fanzines, paper dolls, 3D glasses and a behind-the-scenes look at her life.

Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, will also be kicking off her tour later this year, The Monster Ball Tour.

Lady Gaga has said the main reason she agreed to a cameo in Gossip Girl is because her sister is a huge fan of the US show.

The 23-year-old Poker Face singer will appear in an episode of the show, when Leighton Meester's character Blair works her connections to get the singer to perform.

Gaga revealed that the pair had a laugh together while filming.

She said: “There's actually a funny story. Before she [Meester] filmed her scene, because I'm performing while there's a scene going on.

"So I had to do it once, you know, with the music and once I had to do it silently...

"But you can see me, so they can lay the audio in with no ambient music. .....

Pop sensation Lady GaGa is caring for her father following open-heart surgery.

"My Daddy had open-heart surgery today," she wrote on her Twitter page.

She informed her fans the operation had gone well, tweeting: "And after long hours, and lots of tears, they healed his broken heart, and mine. Speechless."

GaGa's costumes, antics and video clips leave little room for an imagined serious side to her life. But she clearly has one. She later added: "At the hospital. Giving dad a footrub while he falls asleep. He's my hero."

In the past, GaGa has said that it was her father who saved her from drugs.

Lady Gaga will be dressing up as a monster for her upcoming Monster Ball tour.

The 23-year-old singer recently announced she would be heading off on her own tour later this year after cancelling a planned tour with rapper Kanye West.

She said: "The theme of monsters is certainly going to be an influence. It's going to be a truly artistic experience that is going to take the form of the greatest post-apocalyptic house party that you've ever been to."

The singer will also be re-releasing her album The Fame as a two-disc edition called The Fame Monster in November.

Lady GaGa has announced news of her own solo tour called The Monster Ball, this winter.

The 24-year-old singer was due to perform the Fame Kills tour with rapper Kanye West, but the tour got cancelled.

GaGa will be re-releasing her album, which is now called The Fame Monster, on November 23 and will feature eight new songs.

It has now been revealed that she will head off on tour later this year and it will start on November 27 on Montreal.

She said: "A message to all my little monsters: The Fame Monster will come out four days before the first live show. You have exactly 96 hours to learn all of the lyrics so you can sing along. Dress accordingly."

Lady Gaga is re-releasing her debut album with eight new songs.

The pop sensation says she will call the new album Fame Monster, because it was inspired her massive success over the last year on a world tour.

She said: "On my re-release of The Fame Monster, I wrote about everything I didn't write on The Fame. While travelling the world for two years, I've encountered several monsters, each represented by a different song on the new record... I spent a lot of nights in Eastern Europe, and this album is a pop experimentation with industrial/Goth beats, 90s dance melodies, an obsession with the lyrical genius of 80s melancholic pop, and the runway... I also composed a ballad .....
