Lady Gaga's jewelled headphones inspired by her studded jackets

Lady Gaga has revealed that her jewelled headphones were inspired by the studded jackets she wore while growing up.

The 23-year-old singer recently designed a set of headphones called Heartbeats that are covered in jewels.

The star, who revealed her inspiration at the launch of the headphones at Best Buy in LA, said: "I wore studded leather jackets, me and my friends in New York."

She added: "Lifestyle, grit, passion and love for music, freedom. These were the things I thought about when we were designing [the headphones].

"They really reflect a headphone that I just think is really great looking and represents who I am."

Lady Gaga sipped on a cup of tea - and revealed she spent her school days upsetting nuns.

The off-the-wall singer, who attended a Catholic school, said she had never liked having to conform.

"I was always very different and trying to not fit in too much," she told US chat show host Jay Leno.

"I just didn't want to be like anyone else and I was obsessed with Judy Garland and Led Zeppelin.

"I got really good grades - I was like a straight A student - but I was really bad.

"I was very naughty, wore awful things to school. I used to roll my skirt up really high so the nuns didn't know what to do with me."

Lady GaGa will sing for the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance at the Opera House in Blackpool, UK.

The notoriously unconventional performance artist and musician has aroused controversy wherever she goes. But the American GaGa will no doubt prepare a royal costume.

She is known for eye-popping outfits that include such items as underwear worn as outerwear - and the only wear - while walking through the ordinary city streets.

GaGa, 23, in her interviews is never fussed by criticism and speaks candidly of her own sex life and preferences.

Lady Gaga has been booked to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of the Queen next month.

The 23-year-old singer, who has had hits with Poker Face and Paparazzi, regularly shocks fans with her crazy outfits and unusual performances.

She has now been booked to perform at Blackpool's Opera House on December 7.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: "I really don't know if the Queen or Prince Philip have listened to Lady Gaga, or are familiar with her. But the Royal Variety Performance is a well-known charitable event which they support, and they meet all the stars involved."

Lady Gaga has said her recent appearance on the show Gossip Girl was 'performance art'.

The 23-year-old singer filmed a performance of her new track Bad Romance for the popular US show and said her dress ended up being a lot bigger than she first thought.

She said to PEOPLE: "We discussed having a very flowy red dress. But [the dress] arrived today and it's about 30-feet long! That was an adjustment. But nothing that I couldn't handle."

Talking about her performance on the show, which recently aired on CW, she added: "It's a little bit more of a fashion montage. It's very performance art."

Lady GaGa brought her outrageous fashions to Gossip Girl with a guest appearance on the popular US show.

Dressed in a stunning 30-feet-long red dress the Pokerface singer wowed TV audiences last night playing herself and performing her new single, Bad Romance in the teen series.

In the episode, Blair (played by Leighton Meester) wants to impress her classmates at New York University.

She manages to organise a private concert with GaGa, proving herself as queen of the social scene.

GaGa is re-releasing her debut album The Fame Monster on November 24. It will include eight new songs.

Wacky performer Lady Gaga has spoken out about her upcoming guest appearance on Gossip Girl - and admitted she accepted the part because her teenage sister is a huge fan of the show.

She said: "First of all, my sister's a huge fan, and she's 17 years old.

"So when I called her and said, 'Gossip Girl wants to put my whole new album on the show and have me perform,' she was like: 'Oh my God, you have to do it. It's an amazing show.'

"And I'd seen it. It's a great show."

Lady Gaga also revealed she didn't want her time on the show to be a stereotypically awkward musical-guest appearance on a TV series.

Lady Gaga has revealed that she modelled her quirky image on Brit rock legend David Bowie.

The pop superstar said that when she was growing up, she would spend hours trying to recreate Bowie's own distinctive look.

“I used to like sit in my apartment for hours and do his make-up on myself over and over again,” she said, adding that she still collects anything to do with the rock legend.

The singer also admitted that she loves Halloween - because the holiday allows her to “hide” because so many of her fans dress up as her.

She said: “I was really excited that everyone was going to be me, so I could hide in a sea of Gagas.” .....

Singers Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper are to play ‘kiss and MAC-up' - by becoming the latest faces of the cosmetic company's Aids Fund.

The pair will advertise two new shades of lipstick - MAC Viva Glam Gaga and Viva Glam Cyndi - in MAC's From Our Lips campaign.

The pop stars have joined the ranks of Mary J Blige and Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie to front the make-up giant's charity fundraiser.

Gaga, 23, and flamboyant 1980s star Lauper, 56, will appear in the MAC Aids Fund ads from next February.

The Fund has raised more than $135m since 1994.

Lady Gaga is to perform with the Bolshoi Ballet for work that will be shown at a gala for the Museum of Contemporary Art in LA.

The Poker Face star, known for her crazy wardrobe and catchy pop tunes, will be performing with the dancers from the Ballet, according to a news release from the museum.

It said that it had commissioned the Italian performance artist Francesco Vezzoli to create a production called Ballet Russes Italian Style (The Shortest Musical You Will Never See Again).

The production will feature the collaboration between the quirky singer and the Ballet, and it will be performed at MOCA Grand Avenue on November 14 and will also feature the debut of Ga .....
