Leona Lewis's alleged attacker not fit for court

The London man who is accused of attacking Leona Lewis as she signed copies of her book in Piccadilly, London, has been deemed unfit for court.

Peter Kowalczyk, 29, was immediately scheduled under the Mental Health Act upon being taken into custody for the October 14 incident, which shocked fans around the world. He has been charged with hitting Lewis, who was reported deeply shaken.

The City of Westminster Magistrates' Court heard that Kowalczyk remains scheduled under the Mental Health Act. The case has been postponed for the same court on December 14.

Leona Lewis's new Los Angeles digs came to light today, several months after she splashed out for them.

The singer's new Tuscan-style villa is possibly located in the beautiful hills of Brentwood overlooking the Santa Monica beach, according to a UK report. The purchase was made in September but details kept tightly under wraps until now.

Lewis will have at her disposal four bedrooms, an outdoor pool and a hot tub. She has also made sure her Tinsel Town residence is duly secured. Lewis suffered a recent shocking fan attack that saw her punched in the face at a London book signing.

Singer Leona Lewis has claimed her second number one album in the UK charts with new offering Echo.

The 24-year-old, who won the 2006 series of The X Factor, knocked off X Factor 2007 runners-up JLS from the top of the UK albums chart with her second album Echo.

This is Lewis's second number one album as her debut hit Spirit became the fastest-selling debut album of all time two years ago.

Other acts in the album chart were British band N-Dubz, who reached number six with Against All Odds, and Will Young's The Hits came in at number nine.

Singer Leona Lewis is set to claim her second UK number one album as her new album Echo sold more than 50,000 copies on its first day.

Lewis, 24, went to number one in the UK with her debut album Spirit when it was released two years ago and she is set to do the same again as her new offering has notched up a number of sales since its recent release.

Last year's X Factor runners-up JLS claimed the top spot last week after beating off Robbie Williams, but the two acts are being beaten by Lewis in this week's charts.

Queen are also selling well with their new compilation Absolute Greatest, which sold 25,000 copies on its first day.

Singer Leona Lewis has said it's 'irrelevant' if people say that she is boring.

The 24-year-old, whose new album Echo was recently released, has been accused of being boring in the press, but the singer said she isn't interested in the opinions of those who don't know her.

She said: "It's irrelevant to me if people say I'm boring. They don't know me as a person or what I'm like when I'm hanging out with my friends."

Leona won the 2006 series of the UK talent show The X Factor and she said that the show is different now to when she was on it.

Brit singer Leona Lewis was recently spotted chatting to fashion designer Stella McCartney, sparking rumours that they are to team up together for an eco-friendly clothing range.

The 24-year-old Happy singer was seen chatting to McCartney, 38, backstage at the Children In Need gig at the Royal Albert Hall, in London.

A source said: "Leona and Stella got on famously. They are both vegetarians, don't wear leather and are huge animal lovers.

"The [fashion] line would be very animal-friendly."

British singer Leona Lewis is to record the theme tune for the much-anticipated movie Avatar, according to reports.

Lewis, 24, will be performing the track, I See You, which will accompany the end credits of the upcoming sci-fi epic directed by James Cameron.

The men behind Celine Dion's Titanic theme tune, My Heart Will Go On, James Horner and Simon Franglen, will be producing the track, according to the BBC.

The movie, about an alien race defending their land against human invasion, will star Sigourney Weaver, Sam Worthington and Michelle Rodriguez, and is due to premiere in London, in December.

Singer Leona Lewis has said this year's X Factor competition is like a 'pantomime'.

The 24-year-old won the 2006 series of the popular UK talent show but she said that this year's show isn't just about the music any more.

She said: "It's all pantomime, of course. I do feel that when I did it, it was more about the music.

"Now it's a whole production - so many people on stage, dancing, special effects going off, all that craziness. It's definitely changed emphasis."

Leona added that she isn't a fan of Jedward, the controversial twin contestants in this year's shows.

Singer Leona Lewis has revealed Robbie Williams has challenged her to a game of poker.

The 24-year-old star, who won The X Factor three years ago, sung her new single Happy at the show at the Royal Albert Hall in London, which was organised by Take That star Gary Barlow.

She said: "It's pretty nerve-racking out there in front of people you admire so much."

She added: "I spoke to Robbie Williams backstage and he has challenged me to a game of poker. I'm really good at it.

"We're going to get together in LA. We won't play for money, just chips. I reckon I'll beat him. I'm pretty good."

Singer Leona Lewis has announced details of her first UK tour since winning the X Factor in 2006.

The 24-year-old star recently played her first UK gig at the Hackney Empire in London since winning the show three years ago.

Her tour will start on May 28 next year in Sheffield and will finish in Dublin on June 27.

Lewis said in a statement: "Over the last few years I've had some amazing experiences and sung in some really interesting places but it's going to be great to be able to perform all my own material on my very own tour."

Her new single Happy is the first track off her upcoming album Echo, which is released on November 16.
