Mariah Carey Biography

Mariah Carey was born on March 27, 1970 in Huntington, Long Island, NY. Carey is one of the most successful artists in the 1990s. However, after her role in Glitter which gave really negative reviews, and her public breakdown, Virgin Records dropped her. She then went on to sign with Island Records and was back on top by 2005.

Mariah Carey has received a number of awards including Artist of the year, Best new female singer, and Artist of the decade, along with countless others.
However, her acting career wasn�t as successful as her signing was. Her 2001 role in the movie Glitter bombed the box office and got brutal criticism. She received the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actress. However, that did not stop her from acting and she played in a couple other roles such as �You Don�t Mess with the Zohan� and �Tennessee�.
Carey married boyfriend Nick Cannon on April 30 in 2008 at her estate in the Bahamas.
