All Points West Organizers Announce Second Annual Lineup

It's official: All Points West has survived to its second year. The Liberty State Park festival essentially the east coast version of Coachella, only a little smaller will host headlining sets from Coldplay, Tool and the Beastie Boys this time around, with additional appearances by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The National, My Bloody Valentine, Echo & the Bunnymen, .....

The NME held its annual Shockwaves Awards in London last night, dishing out nods to Kings of Leon (best album for Only the Night), Pete Doherty (best solo artist), MGMT (best new band; best track for “Time To Pretend”), The Killers (best international band) and Oasis (best British band).NME editor Conor McNicholas had this to say about the Gallagher .....

MGMT have served Nicolas Sarkozy with a lawsuit, claiming he didn’t give the duo proper compensation for the use of their single “Kids” in the French President’s online videos. According to MGMT’s lawyer, Isabelle Wekstein, 53 Euros (around $90) was originally paid to use the song, but repeated plays have brought up issues of infringement and counterfeiting. .....

Now that MGMT's Oracular Spectacular debut is officially out in the UK, the Brooklyn-based band has announced a few weeks of overseas dates. Expect them to touch down on May 5 in Cardiff, with gigs scheduled through May 22 in Leeds. No sleep 'til Brooklyn: 5/5 Cardiff - Great Hall 5/6 Glasgow - ABC 5/7 Dublin - Academy 5/9 Edinburgh - Liquid Rooms .....

The buzz-stirring Brooklynites in Yeasayer and MGMT have announced a month-long North American tour starting on January 16 in Washington, DC, and wrapping up in Philly on February 15. Both bands generated a great deal of attention during this year's CMJ as they previewed tracks off their two critically-acclaimed debuts, All Hour Cymbals and Oracular .....
