The Staples Center Prepares For The Michael Jackson Memorial

Fans and media gather outside of the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, California on July 6, 2009 as preparations begin for tomorrow's memorial service for Michael Jackson. Over 1.5 million people entered their names for a chance to attend the service, though only 8,750 people were chosen to receive a ticket. Each of the 8,750 randomly selected applicants will receive two tickets to the ceremony at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. According to event spokesman Michael Roth, wristbands will be issued and organisers will check ID to make sure that names correspond with those of online applicants.
