Obviously, this is a song that rates itself: main theme on one of the most popular soundtracks ever (i.e. "The Never Ending Story" - the song is mostly known as "Never Ending Story" but opinions vary here, since the single sleeve uses the film logo with the initial "The"), this single was Number 1 in 8 countries all over the world, and made it to the Top 5 of 9 more countries (it was Number 4 in UK, Number 2 in Germany and Italy, moreover). The 5 stars I gave the song as a track in itself, but I do not consider it to be Limahl's major achievement ever. Indeed, there other songs he wrote (and, by the way, he didn't even write this personally, it was Giorgio Moroder's musical genius along with Keith Forsey's arguable lyrics) that may possibly be seen as better than this: "Love In Your Eyes" and "Only For Love" only to quote a couple of singles, but there are also stand-out album tracks such as "Shock" or the rarest "Oh Girl" or the first album title-track "Don't Suppose" which would deserve a lot more than they actually gained...
