Karen O Shares Solo "Day Go By" Audio, Personal Handwritten Lyrics

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman is going out on her own on 'Crush Songs': hear her new single + see her handwriting!

You're probably familiar with Karen O as the black-haired, soulful wailer that leads NYC rock trio the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Dropping a solo record on September 9th, sentimentally titled Crush Songs, the songstress revealed in a handwritten note on her website that this record has been a long time coming. "When I was 27 I crushed a lot. I wasn't sure I'd ever fall in love again. Those songs were written + recorded in private around this time. They are the soundtrack to what was an ever continuing love crusade. I hope they keep you company on years," the note states.

Karen just released the audio to her second single "Day Go By," and it's a beautifully stripped-back acoustic number that compares her adoration to addiction. She also appears to have put out a handwritten lyrics sheet showcasing the song's words, and you can peep it here:
