Beyonce Releases Surprising New Track "Bow Down/I Been On"

When Beyonce sent out a new song on Soundcloud on St. Patrick's Day, we thanked our lucky stars. But after listening, we were a litte...confused. "Bow Down/I Been On" sounds like a track released for either a fresh-on-the-scene 17-year-old rapper or even an outtake from Lana Del Rey's Born To Die — The Paradise Edition. We think that Bey can make whatever kind of music she wants, and succeed at it, but isn't she a little bit evolved past this almost amateur style of music? Spouting lyrics like I know when you were little girls / You dreamt of being in my world / Don't forget it, don't forget it/ Respect that, bow down b******, it definitely sounds like the Queen Bey is throwing shade at her admirers. All in all, we think this song was released to promote her upcoming tour, The Mrs. Carter Show, by proving to us that she's got some street cred. Listen to the track below:
